About us
This is Honduras's global headquarters Well, to be perfectly honest, "us" is actually a bit of an overstatement - there is actually just me. I am a native of Honduras, born and raised in Tegucigalpa. This website is my idea and result of my work, with collaboration and support of many friends, most of them Hondurans as well. Why this site was createdIn recent years I've been given the extraordinary opportunity to live in places that are not only geographically distant from my country, but also culturally. This has allowed me to meet people from accross the globe and to exchange impressions about our countries and cultures with them. The idea for this website started to take shape as I began to realise two things. First, that most people outside of Honduras know surprisingly very little about it and second, that despite knowing a lot about my country, I am not very good at telling people about it. After finding that Honduras is underrepresented on the Internet, the idea to build this website began to take shape. Work in progressPlease bear in mind that This is Honduras is a work in progress. To the best of my knowledge, the information you'll find in the site is accurate and up to date. However, I do not claim to be an expert in the fields of history, photography, website design or even good writing. Every effort will be made to update the site and to make continuous improvements to it. AknowledgementsCredit will be given to those whose photographs have been used in the webstie and on whose writings the texts have been based. If anybody is left out, may this be interpreted as a lapse in my memory, and not as a lack of respect. Many of the photographs are the work of Honduran photographer Juan Bendeck. Some photos in the site have been taken by individuals who have visited Honduras and have graciously allowed me to use the pictures they took while they were there. When no credit is given, the photo was taken by me. ContactIf you have questions about Honduras, please email questions@thisishonduras.com and you'll get an answer as soon as possible. If you have comments about the website's structure or if you find errors in it (I'm sure there are many); or if you have problems while navigating it, please email webmaster@thisishonduras.com.
